Stephanie Cheng is a writer, director and photographer based between New York and Beijing. Through her work, she explores intimacy, power, and emotional truths within contemporary relationships, with a particular focus on the disillusionment one often encounters through life's non-linear transitions. Stephanie received her B.F.A. in Film and Television from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and completed her Master’s in Visual, Museum, and Material Anthropology at the University of Oxford.
Stephanie is currently developing her first feature film, THE THIRD PARTY, which explores desire and agency in modern China. The film has been supported by Cine Qua Non Lab, NOWNESS and was named a finalist at Almanack Screenwriters. She was selected to participate in the 2026 TIFF Directors' Lab.
